Nauset Newcomers Walkers
Welcome to the Nauset Newcomers Walkers page !
This site is our portal for communication with you. Here we will post information about our upcoming walks each week. We ask that that you check this site prior to our walks so that you will be "in the loop”. We suggest you add this web site to your “favorite places” or create a desktop icon for easy access. Then, click on it on Fridays, after noon, to get the information for the Monday walk. On Monday morning, between 8 AM and 9 AM, we will post a cancellation notice if we decide to cancel because of weather.
We will depend on you to check the website for the weekly information.
We hope you will find this site a convenient and informative way to keep abreast of our scheduled walks.
Thank you,
Gwen Pelletier and Barbara Murphy

Truro Hills, Bearberry Hills, Truro
This is a lovely walk, with varied terrain. Starting from the parking lot, there will be an uphill walk through hills covered with bearberry, a low growing plant which is blooming now, with a beautiful small flower and delicate fragrance. Depending on the weather, we’ll decide “on the spot” whether to walk down to the bog house and back out along the beach or over to the Ozzie Ball estate, with views of the ocean along the way.
The walking is mostly along firm trails and then sandy along the beach.
Walkers should plan on a longer than usual walk--returning between. 11:45 and 12 noon.
Directions: Route 6 to North Truro. Take the Pamet Roads/Truro Center exit from Route 6. Turn left onto North Pamet Road. There is a small parking lot on the right about 1.5 miles. You will also be able to park along the side of the road in that area. We do still encourage car pooling for environmental reasons as well as that it can get quite crowded in the parking lot and along the road.
Car Pooling: Olympic Sports, Skaket Corners, Orleans. Plan to leave by 9:30 AM. Arnold’s Eastham. Plan to leave by 9:35 AM
